What is a Video - Small Talk Companion Call?
A Video - Small Talk Companion Call will take place on Zoom. Both you and your companion will have your cameras turned on. You will be speaking the majority of the time while you're on this call and your companion will be listening and engaging in small talks with you. If you would like your companion to listen only and not engage in any conversations, please let your companion know. Your companion will inform you when there is one minute left on the call, and they will thank you at the end of the session. The purpose of this call is for you to be able to speak and have small talks with a trusted companion on camera.

Also, please be informed that although your call will be confidential, if you share with us that you're going to do something illegal or you're going to cause harm to yourself or someone else, we will report it to the authorities. In addition, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone if we have a safety concern, ethical concern, or other legal or business reasons.
What is an Audio/Phone - Small Talk Companion Call?
An Audio - Small Talk Companion Call will take place on Zoom. Both you and your companion will have your cameras turned off so you will not be able to see each other. You will be speaking the majority of the time while you're on this call and your companion will be listening and engaging in small talks with you. If you would like your companion to listen only and not engage in any conversations, please let your companion know. Your companion will inform you when there is one minute left on the call, and they will thank you at the end of the session. The purpose of this call is for you to be able to speak and a have small talks with a trusted companion off camera.

What if I’m late or missed my call?
For both audio and video calls, your coach or companion will remain on Zoom for 10 minutes after the scheduled start time. If you don't join the call after 10 minutes, they will end the call and there will be no refund issued. If you are less than 10 minutes late, you will be able to use the remaining of the call time. However, your call time will not be extended beyond the original scheduled end time.
Do I need to turn on my camera for life coaching calls?
Yes. Life coaching calls will be on Zoom video so you will be required to turn on your camera for the duration of the call.
Do I need to turn on my camera if I have a Video - Small Talk Companion Call?
Your companion will have their camera turned on and we encourage you to do the same. However, you have the option to have your camera on or off.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my call?
At Your Own Story, we understand there will be times you may need to cancel or reschedule your call. Here are our policies regarding cancellations and rescheduling:
Cancellations: If you cancel 4 hours or more before the scheduled start time of your call, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel less than 4 hours before the scheduled start time of your call, no refund will be issued.
Rescheduling: You may reschedule 4 hours or more before the scheduled start time of your call. You will not be able to reschedule your call if it's less than 4 hours before your call is scheduled to start and if you are unable to attend, no refund will be issued.
If we cancel your call for any reason before your scheduled start time, we will notify you by email and you will receive a full refund.
What if I need to change my video call to an audio call or vice versa?
You will need to send your request to us 4 hours or more prior to the scheduled start time of your call by using our contact form on this website. We will contact you by email prior to your call time about any refund or additional payment required. If you are changing your audio call to a video call, you will be required to pay the additional cost prior to joining the call. If you are changing your call from a video to an audio call, we will refund you the difference.
What if I'm interested in texting only?
If you are only interested in texting, you will schedule an Audio/Phone Listen-Only/Small Talk Companion Call. This will take place on Zoom and instead of speaking, you may use the chat option to communicate with your companion.
How long will it take for a refund to show up on my account?
It may take 5-10 business days for funds to settle. Please use our contact form on this website if you have cancelled your appointment and would like a reference number to trace the refund at your bank.
Do I need to be 18 years or older to use your services?
Yes. We are currently offering our services to individuals who are 18 years and older only.
Are these services available in any other languages?
Our services are currently only available in English.
Are all calls on Zoom?
Yes. All of our calls will take place on Zoom. You will receive a Zoom link with your confirmation email after you've scheduled a call with us.
What if I never received a confirmation email after scheduling a call?
You should receive a confirmation email shortly after scheduling a call with Your Own Story. Don't forget to check your spam folder. If it's been an hour or more and you still have not received anything, please let us know by using our contact form on this website so we can provide further assistance.
